TERMS & CONDITIONS

I encourage you to read these User Terms carefully as they are a legal document and, upon making your booking, you agree to be bound by these User Terms. It is the responsibility of the client who books to understand, agree and be responsible for all booking conditions, including all payments being made by the specified dates.


Securing / PAYING FOR your booking:

A $100-200 booking fee is required to secure the booking and is non-refundable or transferable under any circumstances. The booking fee amount is calculated based on the size/requirements of the booking. The remainder of the invoice must be paid 30 days in advance of the service date or the client risks the appointment being unattended and cancelled without refund. The onus is on the client to pay the remainder of the invoice by the due date listed at the top of their invoice.

Any extra payments you have made to your invoice additional to the required deposit ahead of the required deadline is your responsibility, and if for some reason you cancel or reschedule your booking with me, these extra funds are non-refundable. I recommend paying your invoice using the timelines you have been provided by me on your invoice if you think you may need to cancel or postpone your booking.

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they reference the payment/s correctly (description as your full name) and entering the correct bank details provided on the invoice.

R E S C H E D U L I N G / A M E N D I N G Y O U R A P P O I N T M E N T :

CANCELLATIONS ISSUED BY ME:

In the unlikely event that I am unable to fulfil your booking, I will notify you in the first instance and provide you with a replacement stylist, one whom I recommend highly and does similar work to myself. If I cannot find a suitable replacement stylist, I will offer you a full refund. Bookings that have been rescheduled by you that I am not available for are NOT included under this clause. Any funds paid to me for a booking that results in a change of date/location that I am unable to attend to results in a loss of deposit/booking fee/funds paid.

AMENDING YOUR CURRENT BOOKING:

Booking Minimum: Additional surcharges will be charged if the amount of guests being serviced reduces below our booking minimum ($1000* + travel), either as a lump surcharge or on a per person basis; charged at our discretion after the deposit has been paid and booking secured. Any reduction of services below the booking minimum will see the client charged the minimum regardless.

A minimum of 12 weeks notice is required for any changes to the booking (due to timings around other bookings on the day) to avoid a 50-100% loss of payable invoice amount [50%: Within 12 weeks | 100%: Within 4 weeks]. For cancellations/rescheduling, see below.

*The Booking Minimum rate is subject to change and under my discretion pending location/day etc.

CANCELLATIONS/RESCHEDULING ISSUED BY YOU:

Legally as stated, your deposit/booking fee is non-refundable or transferable, however depending on your individual situation under my discretion, I may offer to reschedule your booking (minus booking fee/deposit). If this applies to you, your booking will only be able to be transferred a maximum of one occasion. If you choose to reschedule or postpone your appointment more than 12 months after your initial booking, you will be subject to a price increase and a new deposit/booking fee. Any further rescheduling or cancellation after my initial offer will result in your deposit being forfeited [after confirming booking] or full invoice amount forfeited [within 4 weeks of date]. If you would like to book for a third time, a new deposit is required as well as the invoice must be paid in full and subject to current pricing.

Reasons I may allow you to reschedule your booking include:

  • If the wedding/event is legally unable to go ahead due to government lockdowns/restrictions (this does not include reduced numbers or precautions taken towards COVID-19 or similar and only applies if the event can legally not continue)

  • If I am unable to legally work or travel to your location due to government lockdowns/restrictions (this doesn’t apply if you change the location to one I am unable to travel to - it only applies for original locations confirmed upon initially booking)

  • If you are unable to attend your appointment due to having COVID-19 yourself, you must send me a copy of your positive test result. This only applies to the individual who booked me (bride/event client etc) and doesn’t include the rest of the bridal party where my booking minimums and such above still apply.

  • If a state restriction doesn’t allow you to visit my studio/confirmed location upon initially booking. This only applies to the individual who booked me (bride/event client etc) and doesn’t include the rest of the bridal party where my booking minimums and such above still apply.

R I G H T T O R E F U S E S E R V I C E :

Bella reserves the right to terminate this contract for any noncompliance of terms, contract will become void and all monies given are non-refundable.

I also reserve the right to refuse service on a client who has an infectious disease, for the safety of myself, my family and my other clients. Please, if you are [or a member of your group is] unwell with something contagious, please notify me 48hrs prior to your appointment so I can prepare and discuss this with you prior to your appointment. If you or another in the group have COVID-19 symptoms, I must see a negative test result before I can continue with the service. If you cannot provide this prior to your appointment commencing, it will be cancelled and no refunds will be issued. For any positive COVID-19 cases, please refer to the CANCELLATIONS/AMENDING CLAUSE above.

Should a client show up to her appointment with something contagious such as a cold, I have the right to refuse performing my service and your deposit/full amount paid is non refundable or transferable. Bella reserves the right to refuse service on any clients displaying contagious viral symptoms including but not limited to fever, coughing, vomiting, diarrhoea and suspicious rash to ensure her own health and that of her other clients. Bella also reserves the right to refuse hair styling or makeup services on clients with head lice and on children without refund for misbehaving or uncontrollable children that she feels cannot be styled safely. No refunds will be issued under any of these circumstances.

S A T I S F A C T I O N G U A R A N T E E D:

Bella does not offer refunds for any completed services. Therefore, if you are in any way dissatisfied, the onus is on the client to discuss with Bella while she is on location so she is able to make sure you are pleased prior to her leaving so she can make amendments.

T I M ING :

Bella allows 60 minutes minimum for the bride’s hair/makeup and 60 minutes for anyone else’s hair/makeup respectively. A set up/pack down time of 15 minutes total is also allowed to ensure a safe and clean station is achieved, as well as 15-30 minutes for touch ups. My start time is based on what time you'd like to be ready by, including allowing extra time for any delays. For bookings under 6 people, a start time will be provided to you based on my other bookings on the day and on a Friday or Saturday, this is unable to be changed due to my other bookings on the day. If you would like to secure me on one of these days and have under 6 people to your booking, please keep in mind we will ALWAYS have you ready by your original requested finish time.

All persons involved in the day’s styling appointments will need to be available at the scheduled start time, at the same location and consecutive times (no gaps in between). The booking arrangement cannot be changed once Bella arrives for the appointment. Bella is not responsible if desired completion time is not met due to client delays. If Bella is set back due to delays caused by you or your group/wedding party, and if she is requested and required to overstay, (provided she can stay pending her other appointments), the client will be charged $50 per half hour exceeded to overstay the appointment in half hour increments only, (min. $50).

 

V E I L P L A C E M E N T:

Please note that veil applications are not included in the wedding day quote. This is because veils are usually the last step in the getting ready process after you get photos of you and your bridal party, getting ready photos and bridal portraits/you getting into your dress. Hair and makeup artists usually finish in time for the photographers according to their schedule, then we leave and you and your bridal party to get your photos and get ready. If you’d like me to hang around in the background with you all and pop your veil in before you walk out the door, there will be a $100/hr charge. Otherwise, I can pop it in before you get changed free of charge prior to leaving, but no-one wants to be walking around in a veil in bridal robes! If you don’t book me to stay around, I usually just show someone where to put the veil/how to put it in before I leave so you all feel comfortable and confident :)

Trial booking details:

Hair trials are conducted at my studio in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, QLD and are charged at $200/pp for one style (1.5hrs duration max). If you require more than one style, the fee will be reduced to $350 for two hairstyles (one up and one downstyle - 2.5hrs max). Makeup trials with Isabella are $200 (2hrs max) and a hair and makeup joint trial is $400 (3hrs max).

Please notify Bella at least 4 weeks in advance to reschedule a trial, should you not be able to attend. The trial deposit/booking fee is non-transferrable or refundable under any circumstances. Cancellations or missed trial appointments without 4 weeks prior notice will be non-transferable or refundable and a new deposit will be required to book a new trial date.

If you are booking a trial with me without first securing me with a deposit/booking fee for your wedding date, please know that trial bookings do not guarantee or secure hair and/or makeup services for your wedding date.

A hair and makeup trial appointment runs for 2.5- 3hrs (1.5hrs for hair or makeup only) pending the intricacy of the styles and if changes are required. On the wedding day, 1hr max is allowed for each hair and makeup, however extra time is allowed for the trial to include a in-depth consultation, product/extension recommendations etc.

The onus is on the client to book in a trial and is subject to availability, however they are scheduled 6- 16 weeks prior to your wedding date. Bella does not perform trials on weekends due to being booked with weddings. Trials are held in her Burleigh Headsstudio on weekday dates between 2-5pm (after her weddings/commercial shoot obligations). At her discretion, other weekday times and the occasional weekend time may come up but this isn’t often possible due to a large amount of bookings scheduled 12-18 months in advance.

Hair + Makeup prep details:

The onus is on the client to prepare for their appointment accordingly to get the best possible results for their individual look:

Hair Prep: Your hair must be washed prior to your appointment with two shampoos at the roots/through to the ends and one conditioning application through the mid lengths and ends only. This must be done the day/night before your appointment with me, and hair must be blowdried smooth without any irons used. If your hair is dry, curly or frizzy, you can pop in a bit of blowdry smoothing cream so you hair doesn’t go frizzy with the heat of your blow drier drying your hair out with no hydration. I will not blowdry wet hair under any circumstance at your trial, as your hair will not be prepped properly and achieve the best results due to being too soft.

Makeup Prep: Please arrive with a clean face. I recommend your eyebrows to be groomed prior to your appointment. With regards to waxing/threading, it’s ideal to allow at least a few days buffer between waxing/threading and the wedding day in case your skin is irritated from waxing/threading treatments. Keep in mind if you are having a spray tan prior to the wedding day, I would recommend getting one so you get an accurate representation of how you will look on the day. Spray tan can also dry the skin, so specific products may be needed to achieve the best result for your wedding date. Spray tans are best completed 2 days prior to your trial/wedding day.

Please bring with you your hair/makeup inspiration photos, photos of any hair accessories used or bring them with you. I recommend choosing something from my Instagram or website you like <3

Wedding daY details:

Full makeup includes the usual applications to the face area and lightly to upper neck only. Any other required applications will be charged for and quoted prior to application in the areas not included in our usual service, including but not limited to the back, chest and remainder of the body, particularly where extensive works and product applications are required.

Additional requests such as glitters, gemstones, eyelid tape/netting, bold/unusual pigments and other special mediums need to be requested in advance which Bella will quote for, as these are specialty items not in her mobile kit unless requested in advance. Should special or tattoo coverage be required please advise Bella in advance so time and price can be quoted.

On your wedding day, we will require an adequate area to set up her hair/makeup station to deliver the service you expect. Where the area isn’t adequate, delays may be unavoidable. We will require access to a safe working power point, a bar/tall stool for makeup applications, a dining/low chair for hairstyling, a roomy bench or large table for equipment and natural window light for makeup. 

To prepare for your hair/makeup appointment with me, please refer to the previous section ‘Trial Booking Details’ for the full preparation information. The onus is on the client to prepare for their appointment accordingly to get the best possible results for their individual look.

Use of image: It is imperative that we continue to update our portfolio and demonstrate our work to future prospective brides. By paying your deposit/booking fee with me, you give confirmation for Bella to contact the clients wedding photographer to access professional images and use them on social media/website for promotional purposes. Please let Bella know in advance if you do not wish to be photographed or not happy with Bella sharing images for marketing purposes. Bella is happy to be photographed on your wedding day however please ensure we are tagged @isabellajanehairmakeup or credited appropriately for the work performed.

Hair extensions & Padding:

There is no charge for the use of your own wefts, hair extensions or anything similar, however we must be notified prior to your appointment so we can allocate the appropriate time to style them required. I generally allow up to 15 minutes extra time to apply hair extensions. If you don’t have any but would like some, we can colour match you at your trial and advise the some amazing quality hair extensions available specifically for your needs, i.e. for thickness only, for length or for thickness and length. We use the amazing Medusa Hair Extensions, and can generally order these at least 7 business days prior to your appointment via express shipping. If you think you may require hair padding, don’t worry as these are included in your hairstyling price for the day :)

Travel fees:

Local Travel: Charged at $60/hr return from my home studio in Burleigh Heads depending on date/booking numbers. No travel fee may be charged if location is within the Gold Coast city region, with a minimum of six clients, charged at my discretion.

Interstate/International: My above travel rate is calculated + accommodation + small daily food allowance + transport/parking fees/flights + a day rate to cover the cost of hair/makeup services (charged as a booking minimum).

Where we travel:

Regular servicing areas include: Byron Bay, NSW and surrounding areas; Gold Coast, QLD and surrounding areas (including Scenic Rim) and Brisbane, QLD and surrounding areas. However, Bella is able to travel anywhere, both interstate and internationally (see previous clause for more information).

Any booking requiring over 1.5hrs of driving one way (over 3hrs travel return), is required to organise accommodation for me the night before the event, and will also be subject to an overnight fee ($100-200) and a daily food allowance ($60). This is to avoid driving over 3hrs + doing your booking on the same day which may impact not only the health/wellbeing of myself but also the quality of work performed on the day. Some bookings may be exempt from this due to booking a large number of people, please contact Bella if this situation is applicable for you to discuss your options.

If accommodation is required, this must be private accommodation for safety/personal reasons - there must not be anyone else staying in the same accommodation as Bella. Any questions on this, please let me know prior to booking.

Parking fees:

Parking must be paid for by the client if required, and is not payable by Bella or her contractors. Parking instructions must be shared prior to the event taking place, and must be paid in advance by the client prior to the service commencement and Bella arriving at your location.


Pricing / surcharges:

All pricing is exclusive of a blow-dry (unless that is what you have specifically booked for). Bella will provide adequate information on how the hair should be prepared prior to on the day styling in a confirmation email 48hrs prior to your appointment. If this is not adhered to, the client will be charged for an additional blow-dry.

Your hair must be washed prior to your appointment with two shampoos at the roots/through to the ends and one conditioning application through the mid lengths and ends only. This must be done the day/night before your appointment with me, and hair must be blowdried smoothed afterwards (do not sleep in wet hair as this will create frizz!). If your hair is dry, curly or frizzy, you will also need to straighten your hair prior to the appointment.

I will not blowdry wet hair under any circumstances on the day of your appointment unless warned ahead of time, which is an extra $50 to allow appropriate time in my day’s calendar for it. I cannot be held responsible for going over the booking time due to improper hair preparation. If your hair is wet on the day, $100 will be charged to dry it and smooth it out. Likewise, if your hair was not washed the day before and is either oily or has products in it such as serums or dry shampoos, you will be required to wash it before I can perform the service. If this delays my bookings for the day at all (longer than 15mins), this will see another $50 fee charged for my time (in 30min increments).

Up to a $50 surcharge may be added per person if the booking is under 4 people, and/or not in the Gold Coast city region, QLD at our discretion. This surcharge may also be added if the person has very thick/long hair and requires further styling such as straightening/blowdrying prior to service commencement to account for extra time spent at the location.

An early morning surcharge of $50- $150*** may be added based on location, if required before 7:00am and not based in the Gold Coast city region, QLD. An early morning surcharge may be added to Gold Coast based locations if requested before 6:00am:

  • Up to $50: 5:30am Gold Coast, 6:30am elsewhere

  • $100: 5:00am Gold Coast, 6:00am elsewhere

  • $150-200: 4:30am or earlier Gold Coast, 5:30am elsewhere

L I A B I L I T Y

Bella is not under any circumstances, responsible for any allergic reactions to products used. The onus is on the client to notify Bella if you have sensitive skin or have any known allergies prior to your appointment commencing. Bella and her team will not be held liable for any injuries that should arise while on location.

Children in attendance of the booking are to be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Children are not to be in the service area at any time unless they are having a service and are being supervised by a responsible adult. This is for their own safety; Bella uses very hot styling tools, operates electrical equipment and has very heavy equipment which can tip if not used correctly. Bella is not responsible for watching any children and accepts no liability from any claims arising from any children’s injury while in the service area. Bella reserves the right to refuse service without refund for misbehaving or uncontrollable children that she feels cannot be styled safely.
